Montmagny ER to partially reopen Tuesday after fire

The Emergency Department at the hospital in Montmagny, Que. will partially reopen its doors this morning, after damage from a fire forced it to close for nearly three weeks.

The fire on June 20 destroyed a laboratory and damaged the ER.

Starting today, the hospital will again be equipped to handle minor health problems that are less urgent.

But ambulances and major emergencies will continue to be directed to hospitals in nearby towns La Pocatière and Lévis.

The ER at the hospital in Montmagny is expected to fully reopen around mid-month.
