Leaked 'Deadpool' Trailer: Can You Spot Vancouver?

A spectacular action scene unfolds on the city's Georgia Viaduct, which was closed for several days.

Vancouver-born actor Ryan Reynolds revealed the first trailer for his “Deadpool” movie, surprising fans at the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend.

In blurry versions of the trailer posted online, a spectacular action scene unfolds on the very recognizable Georgia Viaduct, which was closed for several days in Vancouver where the film was shot.

Comic book icon Stan Lee also appears in the trailer with a cameo in a strip club (No. 5 Orange, anyone?), said The Hollywood Reporter.

The “X-Men” spinoff’s other shooting locations included a Surrey junk yard, “a crappy apartment set in the former Terminal City Ironworks compound and various ‘dive’ bars like the Cobalt Hotel,” according to YVR Shoots.

Reynolds tweeted that the official version of the trailer shown to the San Diego crowd isn’t ready to be officially released yet.

During production this April, city officials said the “Deadpool” project would create 1,100 jobs and bring $37.5 million into Vancouver.

While working in the city, Reynolds was the victim of a hit and run accident in the parking lot of a downtown hotel. A local paparazzo was charged with criminal harassment and assault with a weapon.

“Deadpool” is about how an experiment leaves former Special Forces agent Wade Wilson with accelerated healing powers. Billed as Marvel’s most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool is armed with an unusual sense of humour and is liberal with his use of profanity.

The movie opens on Feb. 12, 2016.
