In the video above by Buzzfeed, we find out what exactly happens when people eat the world's hottest chili pepper. From crying to gagging to full out sweating, it's safe to say these poor souls were completely unsuspecting.
The Carolina Reaper pepper clocks in at 1.5 million scoville heat units, more than 100 times hotter than a jalapeno, ABC News reports.
In 2014, Bon Appetite writer Matt Gross explained that while it took him a mere 21 seconds to eat three Carolina Reaper peppers, it also took him 14 hours to recover from it.
One thing's for sure, we don't recommend taking this chili pepper challenge.
