In lieu of report cards, schools send home letters

The marks are in the mail, according to the Toronto District School Board.

An estimated 170,000 letters containing mark summaries have started to go out. The mailing should be completed this week.

The bare-bones documents are in place of full report cards this year, because of the ongoing labour dispute between teachers and the province.

Letters of placement are being sent for kindergarten students.
