Aerosmith fans in Kelowna got quite the treat Monday before the band’s scheduled concert.
Frontman Steven Tyler, 67, showed up to one of the city’s public pianos that evening to play a few bars of the hit "Dream On." (Watch video above.)
A limousine dropped off the rock legend and his entourage around 5:30 p.m., where he sat down at the blue piano on the waterfront walkway in front of Stuart Park for the impromptu performance, Castanet reported. There were rumours that Tyler would show up before the band's show at Prospera Place.
Fans may have thought it was a dream, but Tyler later incorporated some of the footage from his downtown appearance into that night’s intro of "Dream On," said Kelowna Now.
Kelowna residents were luckier than those in a New Jersey town. In May, listings on both Reverb Nation and Eventful
advertised a weekend morning concert featuring Tyler at a pick-your-own strawberry farm, according to NJ.com.
Alas, they ended up "Cryin" when police posted an advisory that the show was not happening.
