Two collisions have sent two pedestrians to hospital with serious injuries overnight.

In an incident near Eglinton Avenue West and Alameda Avenue just before 5 a.m. ET, a male pedestrian was pinned under a car and may lose both legs. He is in stable condition.

A man was taken away in handcuffs and police say a criminal investigation is underway.

An accident reconstruction team has Eglinton cordoned off between Alameda and Oakwood Avenue.

In the other incident, a woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by an SUV.

She was crossing Buckingham Avenue in Lawrence Park at about 9:30 p.m..

The driver remained on the scene.
