Tatiana Maslany Gets Emmy Nomination For 'Orphan Black'

Tatiana Maslany Gets Emmy Nomination She Deserves

Clones, unite! Clone queen Tatiana Maslany has finally been nominated for an Emmy.

The Canadian actress of "Orphan Black" received her first nomination for Lead Actress in a Drama Series. The category also includes Viola Davis for "How to Get Away With Murder," Claire Danes for "Homeland," Taraji P. Henson for "Empire," Elisabeth Moss for "Mad Men," and Robin Wright for "House of Cards."

Not only are we excited to see this homegrown actress get nomination love, but it's a recognition that is long overdue. Maslany, who has played up to 10 characters on the sci-fi drama, was snubbed for the award over the last few years. Angry fans were quick to point out that not only does Maslany play many different roles, but the show itself is a hit for sci-fi lovers, HitFix reports.

The nomination, which obviously got the #CloneClub and #clonesbians excited, also received praise from comedian Amy Schumer on Twitter.

Maslany spoke to Rolling Stone earlier this year and was asked how she felt about Emmy nomination prejudices against genre shows like hers.

"There's an idea that the acting is less important than the special effects [in those shows], but what's funny about our show is that the special effects and the acting are one and the same," she told the magazine.

Either way, we're incredibly proud! You go girl! Check out all the nominations here.
