Colourful dragon fundraiser walk celebrates 30 years

For the 30th time one of B.C.'s largest social service providers has animated its 30-metre Chinese dragon around Stanley Park to raise money.

S.U.C.C.E.S.S Foundation opened its doors in 1973 and provides language training, employment support, housing and health care to immigrants, seniors and others.

This year the foundation raised more than $400,000 to pay for the services it provides.

Its annual dragon walk attracts thousands of walkers including politicians and sponsors, who take a seven kilometre route around Stanley Park.

The walk also featured a carnival and stage performances representing cultures from around the world.
