Montmagny hospital now fully operational after June fire

The hospital in Montmagny, east of Quebec City, will finally be fully operational this morning, more than a month after a fire broke out in the facility's medical laboratories.

The June 20 fire destroyed the lab and damaged the emergency room, forcing the closure of the department. Ambulances had been redirected to La Pocatière and Lévis.

The ER was reopened partially on July 7.

Lab services and intensive care have all fully re-opened, and deliveries can now be performed at the hospital, but the hospital won't be able to perform CT scans until mid-August.

The fire caused an estimated $10 million in damage.
