Andre De Grasse Advances To 200-Metre Race At Pan Am Games

TORONTO -- Andre De Grasse advanced to the final of the men's 200-metre race at the Pan American Games with a third-place finish in his semifinal heat.

De Grasse finished in 20.12 seconds, behind Panama's Alonso Edward (20.09) and Cuba's Roberto Skyers (20.09).

In the other semifinal heat Jamaica's Rasheed Dwyer set a Pan Am Games record for the 200 metres with a 19.80 finish.

De Grasse holds the Canadian 200-metre record, a 20.03.
