Coquihalla crash leaves 6 people injured, 1 in critical condition

A multi-vehicle crash on the Coquihalla Highway south of Kamloops, B.C., has left several people injured, including one in critical condition.

The highway remains closed about 20 kilometres south of Kamloops, where the multi-vehicle accident occurred just before 11 a.m. Sunday morning.

According to B.C. Ambulance, six people have been injured and one person has been flown to a nearby hospital.

Crews are still on the scene and traffic is at a standstill.

Kamloops RCMP said hail and heavy rain, along with strong winds made driving conditions difficult at the time of the crash.

There is no estimate on when the road will open again.
