Pan Am Games: What you need to know for Sunday

1. Canada's flag bearer

Who will carry the flag for Team Canada at the closing ceremony? A poll on our CBC Pan Am website indicates that fans are pulling for Ellie Black, who won five medals in gymnastics. Track athletes Andre De Grasse, Damian Warner and cyclist Jasmin Glaesser are also among possible candidates to lead the Canadian contingent into the stadium.

2. Kanye West, Pitbull perform at closing ceremonies

International stars Kanye West and Pitbull along with Toronto's Serena Ryder will play at the Pan Am closing ceremonies Sunday evening. Along with the performances, Toronto will hand off the Pan Am baton to Lima, Peru, which will host the 2019 Games. The Pan Am cauldron, which has been lit near the foot of the CN Tower for 16 days, will be extinguished.

3. Going for gold on the diamond

Canada's women's softball and baseball teams will try to make it four gold medals on the diamond for the host nation as they take on the U.S. in both gold medal matches at Ajax Pan Am Ball Park. Both the Canadian men's softball and baseball team won the gold medal during the first week of the Pan Ams.

In softball, the Canadian women defeated Puerto Rico on Saturday to advance to the gold medal match. Canada lost 5-2 to the U.S. on Friday and will be looking to learn from that outing.

In baseball, Canada beat Venezuela on Saturday game, setting up their battle with the Americans. The baseball gold medal game will be at 12:05 p.m ET, while softball's championship game will be at 11:05 a.m. ET, and will be live streamed on the cbc.ca/panam website and CBC Sports app.
