Katy Perry Channels Elizabeth Taylor For Harper's Bazaar Icons Spread

The results are pretty incredible.

The one thing that gets us more excited than celebrity recreations? When said celebrities are the ones doing the transformations.

Harper's Bazaar has released the images from its annual ICONS spread for its September issue, and it features some of the industry's biggest names, including Katy Perry, Mariah Carey and Oprah Winfrey, transforming into their own versions of iconic figures.

Photographed by Jean-Paul Goude and styled by the magazine's global fashion director, Carine Roitfeld, the spread sees Perry as Elizabeth Taylor, Carey as Marie Antoinette and Winfrey as Glinda the Good Witch from "The Wizard of Oz." Dakota Johnson also appears in the shoot, posing as Aphrodite, while Jessica Chastain channels Joan of Arc.

“I thought it would be interesting to show how an established character with a strong personality might have fantasies about his image, which has nothing to do with the idea the general public has of them,” Goude said in an interview about the shoot. “For once, I didn’t feel that I was imposing anything on anybody."
