Canadians Remember Chris Hyndman's Life And Contagious Smile

Fans and media personalities mourned the loss of the lifestyle host on Twitter.

Canadians from coast to coast are remembering Chris Hyndman today, thinking about everything from the joy he brought on set to what he meant for lifestyle television.

The co-host of CBC's "Steven & Chris" was found dead in a Toronto alleyway on Monday. Hyndman, who was 49, shared the show with his longtime partner Steven Sabados.

In the last two days, co-workers and fans have been sharing some of Hyndman's most memorable moments, including how he inspired others to get into design and his smile that seemed contagious. He was born in Ottawa and grew up in Newfoundland, and was particularly beloved by his eastern province.

A memorial has been set up in the atrium of CBC's downtown Toronto building, where people are welcome to leave messages or flowers. The broadcasting company is also planning a celebration of his life on a later date.
