Christopher Jon Adams, Vancouver Tutor, Charged With Molesting 12-Year-Old Student

A Vancouver tutor who was hired to help a 12-year-old girl with English as a second language as been charged with sexual interference.

Christopher Jon Adams, 70, was teaching the student on the city's west side after she arrived in Canada in 2013, said Vancouver police on Thursday. Investigators opened its file after allegations that he touched her "for a sexual purpose."

Police want to speak to other students and parents who may have had contact with the tutor. He advertised his services online and in Vancouver-based Asian newspapers.

Adams is believed to have lived and worked in Ontario before moving to B.C., and has links to the Chinese-Canadian community, added police.

There may be additional victims, both locally and outside the province, who have not yet come forward, said police. Anyone with information is asked to call them at (604) 717-0602.

Adams has been released with conditions, pending his next court appearance.
