U.S. President Barack Obama has shared the music he likes to listen to on summer vacation, and it includes some very respectable Canadian content.
Obama released a pair of Spotify playlists in a tweet on Friday morning.
The "Night" playlist includes songs by Canadian legends Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen.
Mitchell's "Help Me" is a song from 1973. In it, Mitchell sings about falling in love with a "sweet talking ladies man."
Cohen's classic, "Suzanne" is also featured on the list. The 1967 song expressed Cohen's deep feelings for muse Suzanne Verdal, with whom he carried on a friendship while she dated a sculptor.
The "Night" list also has several other songs, by artists such as Beyonce, Van Morrison, Al Green and Ray Charles.
The "Day" list, meanwhile, features diverse tracks from The Temptations, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder and The Rolling Stones.
We're hard-pressed to think of a president who loves music as much as Obama does. And we're glad to see Cohen and Mitchell made the cut.
