Janelle Monáe's #BlackLivesMatter Track Is Required Listening

Those are just a few names that singer/songwriter Janelle Monáe wants you to remember. She's helping people do that with "Hell You Talmbout," a powerful track that she and the artists at her label Wondaland Records released Thursday.

The track begins with marching drums before artists including Monáe, Deep Cotton, JIdenna and George 2.0 begin saying the names of black people who have been killed by police officers.

Monáe explained the track in an Instagram post.

"We recorded it to challenge the indifference, disregard, and negligence of all who remain quiet about this issue," she said.

It comes just after Monáe and Jidenna participated in a march against police brutality in Philadelphia on Wednesday, said Billboard.

"You're going to say his name and say her name," Monáe said at the rally.

You likely will too after you've heard this track.
