Cold Brew Coffee Doesn't Just Taste Good, It's Good For You Too

Even when it's not hot outside.

For years, researchers have debated the benefits of coffee. But when we look at all the studies, it appears a hot cup (or two) of joe has more pluses than minuses, including everything from assisting with digestion to warding off heart disease, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and diabetes.

And the bad? Well, coffee almost always makes a list as one of the worst foods for your teeth, and if you have heartburn, doctors say coffee can even trigger a reaction.

Fortunately, that's where cold brew comes to the rescue. Due to its prolonged steeping process, cold brew coffee is 67 per cent less acidic than hot brew,Toddy Cafe Cold Brewing system explains. And lower acidity means less discomfort for consumers with stomach issues like heartburn and acid reflux, Mic reports.

And the benefits don't stop there — the low-acidity levels can also mean less damage to your tooth enamel.

Oh, and did we forget to mention that aside from the health benefits, cold brew coffee has serious flavour benefits too? Anyone who has sipped on burnt beans knows how bitter that can taste. Cold brew, on the other hand, just sits and soaks for a deep, rich, chocolaty flavour.

Would you switch your hot brew for cold (or have you done it already)? Let us know in the comments below.
