Calgary has seen its fifth pedestrian fatality of the year.
Investigators say a man in his 60s was struck late Thursday night in a southeast neighbourhood and later pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
Police aren't sure if he was in a crosswalk at the time, but say it appears the driver was proceeding through an intersection on a yellow light.
They don't believe alcohol played a role in the accident.
Police in the Calgary region were kept busy earlier in the day dealing with three separate accidents that injured more than a dozen people.
One of them left six children and a woman in hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 1A west of the city. (CHQR, CTV Calgary)
