Justin Bieber cancelled a scheduled club appearance in Montreal on Saturday, on the same day he was slated to perform a medley of hits in his home country.
Bieber, 21, took to Twitter early Saturday morning to apologize to his fans about the change of plans. The Stratford, Ont. native wrote his cancellation was due to a breach of contract at the hands of the event's promotional team.
According to TMZ, Bieber was expected to show at Beachclub — which also housed Kylie Jenner's 18th birthday bash last weekend — and receive a rumoured six-figure fee through two pay installments. After the money didn't make it to the "As Long As You Love Me" singer's hands, he reportedly pulled the plug on the event.
On its Facebook page, Beachclub issued a statement saying that “[Beachclub] and Justin Bieber are in no way liable for the cancellation of today’s event.” The Montreal Gazette reports all ticket holders are entitled to a full refund, and granted free admission to the day's DJ MAKJ sets.
The Grammy nominee is currently working on new music, and is actively promoting the pending release of his new single "What Do You Mean?" on all of his social media platforms.
