It's time for Celine Dion to return to the Vegas stage.
The Canadian singer — who was reportedly the most profitable musical act in Las Vegas since Elvis Presley — had her final show in the Nevada city last August.
"Celine Dion has decided to postpone all of her show business activities indefinitely, in order to focus 100% of her attention on her husband [and manager] Rene [Angélil], their family, and associated health issues," read a statement at the time.
"Since Rene's surgery last December to remove a cancerous tumor, it's been a very difficult and stressful time for the couple as they deal with the day-to-day challenges of fighting this disease while trying to juggle a very active show business schedule, and raise their three young children."
Now — on Aug. 27, to be exact — Dion is starting up a new era of her show, with new management and 40 performances scheduled between now and January 2016.
Though her husband, 73, is still very ill, he wants her to perform. As Dion told USA Today, doctors have not given them a specific prognosis, although Angélil has been fed intravenously for two years. Despite likely being housebound for her performances, he's encouraged Dion to get back on the stage.
"Don't forget, he's been the leader of the band all my life," the 47-year-old star said to the publication. "So it (hacks) him off to not see me all day and over here working. But he wants me to do this, do the show, do the interviews. But he freaks when I'm not home with him, too."
The couple has three children — René-Charles, 14, and Nelson and Eddy, 4 — who all live with them in their Las Vegas home.
Dion and Angélil met when she was 12, and he became her manager. The couple married in 1994, and she calls him "the only boyfriend I've ever had." Which is exactly why when the end comes, she knows where she'll be.
"René says to me, 'I want to die in your arms,'" Dion told USA Today. "'OK, fine, I'll be there, you'll die in my arms.'"
