Foo Fighters RickRoll Westboro Baptist Church Outside Kansas City Concert

And it made our day.

Most people try to avoid interacting with the Westboro Baptist Church, but the Foo Fighters found a pretty good way to do it: embarrass them more than they’re embarrassing themselves.

Westboro religious extremists showed up to protest the band’s concert in Kansas City Friday, but Dave Grohl and his crew had a surprise for them.

They pulled up to the protest in the back of a truck, blasting Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” while holding signs that read “YOU GOT RICK ROLL’D (AGAIN)” and “KEEP IT CLEAN," in reference to their gay love song "Keep it Clean (Hot Buns)."

While some of the Westboro faithful kept their signs up during the stunt, we can bet that fewer people were paying them any attention for at least a few minutes. And for that, we’re glad.

But this isn't the first time the Foos have taken on the notorious church. After the group showed up to protest the band at a Kansas City show in 2011, the rockers rolled up to the tour venue dressed up in their country finest and performed a version of "Keep it Clean (Hot Buns)" for the protesters.

Watch their most recent prank in the video below.
