Randy Lennox, Universal Music Exec, To Head Up Entertainment At Bell

TORONTO — Bell Media has named Universal Music executive Randy Lennox to be president of entertainment production and broadcasting, a new position responsible for a wide range of television, digital and radio operations.

Lennox has 25 years experience in the entertainment industry, including as president and CEO of Universal Music Canada.

The announcement was made by Bell Media's new president, Mary Ann Turcke, who has been in the job since April.

Turcke replaced Kevin Crull, who sparked widespread criticism for demanding CTV journalists limit airtime given to an announcement by Jean-Pierre Blais, chairman of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission.

The Globe and Mail reports that Turcke issued a staff memo on Monday that announced a number of departures from its executive ranks, including Phil King — who was president of Bell Media's CTV network and head of Bell's sports programming.

The Globe says a spokesman for Bell confirmed King's departure, among others, but declined to comment further.
