Emma Roberts is ready for her (unretouched) closeup.
The 24-year-old actress stars in lingerie brand aerie's latest ad campaign, in which she goes unretouched and Photoshop-free. The ads are part of the brand's "Real" initiative that aims to "challenge supermodel standards by featuring unretouched models." This marks the first campaign in a planned series of unretouched celeb ads for aerie.
"Partnering with Aerie was a natural fit for me because #AerieREAL is a message I personally identify with, particularly being in an industry that is quick to judge flaws," Roberts said in a press release. "I feel so honoured to be part of a movement that reassures women that real doesn’t mean flawed -- real is sexy, real is cool."
Emma's campaign features photos of herself wearing cozy loungewear, bras and underwear doing "everyday" things that are totally relatable.
"I've actually never felt more confident and comfortable on a set -- which is amazing, because you don't have that safety net," she told Refinery29. "But I saw the photos and was like, you know what? This is great -- this is just me, in clothes I feel good in, being who I am."
