Canmore Hikers Rushed To Hospital After Fall On Three Sisters

The two were scrambling on the mountain when they fell.

CANMORE, Alta. — Two people "scrambling'' on a mountain west of Calgary were seriously injured when they fell.

Emergency crews were called to the Three Sisters mountains near Canmore around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Kananaskis Emergency Services and Canmore Fire got the two off the mountain and brought them to a nearby area, where they were met by EMS and Stars air ambulance.

One was airlifted to Foothills Hospital in Calgary, while the other was taken to Canmore hospital by ground ambulance.

A third person with the two was not hurt.

Scrambling is climbing a rock face or mountain without a rope or other technical equipment.
