Pair of 2-year-olds injured after Canada Post truck hits baby stroller

A pair of two-year-old children riding in a double-stroller were injured Wednesday evening in Quebec City and transported to hospital after they were struck by a Canada Post truck.

The incident happened at around 5:30 p.m. on Chemin Ste-Foy, near the Duplessis autoroute.

Quebec City police said the driver of the truck was trying to get out of a commercial parking lot, and drive onto Chemin Ste-Foy.

That's when a mother was pushing a double-stroller, that was carrying her two children. The truck was partially on the sidewalk, so the woman tried to walk around the front of the truck.

Police say the driver did not see the stroller. He advanced, flipping over the stroller and dragging it to the middle of the street.

Both toddlers suffered many scrapes and scratches. One was more seriously hurt, with possible head and lower-body injuries.

The mother and the Canada Post driver were taken to hospital and treated for shock.
