TORONTO — Wise Dan, twice North America's horse of the year, is returning to Woodbine Racetrack.
Trainer Charles LoPresti said in a telephone interview this morning Wise Dan will run in the Woodbine Mile on Sept. 13, barring any last-minute developments.
Wise Dan will chase a third Mile victory, winning previously in 2012 and '13, following up both with victories in the Breeders' Cup Mile.
If Wise Dan wins the 2015 Woodbine Mile, he'll gain an automatic entry into the Breeders' Cup Mile, slated Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky., Wise Dan's home track.
The Woodbine Mile would be the first race of the season for Wise Dan as the eight-year-old gelding has been out since suffering a fracture to his right front foot last October.
