SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Andrew Wiggins scored 20 points as Canada beat Puerto Rico 78-72 to win its first Tuto Marchand Continental Cup on Wednesday.
The Canadians finished the FIBA Americas tune-up tournament with a perfect 4-0 record.
Andrew Nicholson added 16 points for Canada while Melvin Ejim chipped in with 11 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.
J.J. Barea led Puerto Rico with 17 points and nine assists.
The FIBA Americas is an Olympic qualifying event from Aug. 31-Sept. 12 in Mexico. The top-two teams in the tournament qualify for next summer's Rio Olympics.
Canada opens up preliminary round play against Argentina on Sept. 1.
