A 'Nazi gold train' that is believed to be filled with over 300 tons of gold, jewels, precious art and weapons may have been discovered as a result of a dying man's confession.
The unnamed man claimed he was among the people who buried the train and confessed its location on his deathbed, according to the Guardian.
Two men, a German and a Pole, who learned of the train's whereabouts, demanded a 10 per cent finder's fee from the Polish government before handing over their findings.
Poland’s deputy culture minister, Piotr Zuchowski, said they have found images of an armoured train buried underground using ground-penetrating radar technology.
Whether or not the two men will get their finder's fee is yet to be determined.
"I saw platforms, I saw cannons. There's no doubt that it's an armoured train," said Zuchowski during a press conference.
The train was discovered near Wałbrzych, in the country’s southwest, where local legends say the Germans stashed it before Russia's Red Army pushed their way across Poland in the final days of the Second World War.
