Sharon And Bram To Host Memorial For Lois Lilienstein

We loved her in the morning, and in the afternoon ...

In April, Lois Lilienstein, best known as part of Sharon, Lois & Bram, passed away at the age of 78. Now her former bandmates are planning to celebrate her life the only way they know how.

On September 26, Sharon Hampson and Bram Morrison will host a public memorial called “Celebrating Lois” at Toronto’s Jane Mallett Theatre in the St. Lawrence Centre for the Performing Arts. The tribute show will take a look at Lilienstein’s most memorable moments on screen and off, and will feature some of the trio’s best-loved songs. These include “She'll be Comin' Round the Mountain,” and of course “Skinnamarink.”

On Monday, Hampson and Morrison said in a release: “We're having a party for Lois, and Lois loved a party! We are so pleased to have the opportunity to share these memories with the people whose lives were touched by Lois.”

Proceeds from the memorial will go to Mariposa in the Schools, which is an organization that teaches Ontario kids about world cultures through performing arts.

Lilienstein passed away in April after a battle with cancer. The Canadian children’s performer gained fame in the '80s with Sharon, Lois & Bram and went on to star in the CBC series “The Elephant Show” with the musical group.
