Police investigate possible bomb found near Bloor and Lansdowne

Police are on scene after a man found what could be an explosive device hidden in a paint can near Bloor and Lansdowne on Wednesday morning.

The landlord of 29 Wade Avenue arrived at the building to see a can of paint next to some sort of electrical workings and immediately contacted police. There was also small fire that has since been extinguished, police said.

The landlord believes it may be a bomb or incendiary device. Police are treating it as a bomb call.

Occupants of the building and the neighbouring addresses have been forced from their homes.

Fire and police are on the scene in hazardous materials outfits.
