Suspicious deaths in Lachute now ruled a double homicide

Quebec provincial police say investigators have concluded the suspicious deaths of two men whose bodies were found in Lachute Tuesday are homicides.

Police were called to a house on Argenteuil Avenue in the community 75 kilometres northwest of Montreal yesterday afternoon.

The men were found dead at the scene, and police say there were signs of violence on the bodies.

Sgt. Mélanie Dumaresq says investigators are now trying to determine the circumstances of their deaths.

"We have to continue to study the scene, that's why forensic [specialists] are there to try to collect some evidence [and some] information," Dumaresq said.

The police spokeswoman said there are no suspects.

The cause of death and age of both victims are still unknown.
