Rainbow hair is so yesterday.
If you've been scrolling Instagram lately, there's no doubt you've come across the new 'it' hairdo that is kicking rainbow locks out of the spotlight. Say hello to the opal hair trend -- a dreamy take on shades that are reminiscent to birthstones (think jades, sapphires and emeralds).
Creator of the opal hair craze, Aura Friedman, who Refinery29 dubs as, "the fairy godmother of colour," explains, "I've always played around with variations of colour, like being able to see different shades when the light hits in different ways." Opal hair begins with a pearl hue base and is then topped off with the blending of romantic pastel colours. The result? A whimsical sand art look.
