#Socality Barbie Instagram Account Pokes Fun At Social Media Trends

“Either your Instagram looks just like hers or you know at least one person whose Instagram does.”

Socality Barbie lives a more authentic life than you.

The parody Instagram account pokes fun at that person on your social media feeds who is constantly making you feel bad about your life.

The account, made by a Portland, Oregon wedding photographer, features a hipster version of Mattel's popular doll posing in all-too familiar shots in front of beautiful backgrounds.

The photographer, who wants to remain anonymous, told WIRED she wanted to poke fun at people using the hashtags #liveauthentically and #socality.

"People were all taking the same pictures in the same places and using the same captions," she said.

"I couldn’t tell any of their pictures apart so I thought, 'What better way to make my point than with a mass-produced doll?'"

"Either your Instagram looks just like hers or you know at least one person whose Instagram does."

One Daily Mail writer says the photos were just a little too familiar, forcing her to take a look at her own Instagram.

People magazine conceded that although it's easy to hate on the account, "there's a reason our Insta frenemies have more followers than us."

The account has over 800,000 followers, some of whom are probably in on the joke.

"I get it, it’s pretty to look at," the photographer said. "But it’s so dishonest. Nobody actually lives like this."
