Adult entertainers stand out with bold makeup on the screen and the page.
But underneath it all, many of them look just like us. And makeup artist Melissa Murphy wants us to see them from both sides.
The L.A.-based artist has long posted photos of her work with nude film stars and models on her Instagram account, where she has amassed 93,000 followers.
But more recently, she began posting images of her work on Playboy shoots.
They show that, even at the highest echelon of adult entertainment, these models can be beautiful with and without makeup.
"The photos not only showcase my artwork but are meant to show the world we are all human," she told The Huffington Post Canada via email.
Murphy resists the word "porn" when referring to her clients. She was careful to point out in one Instagram post that calling them "pornstars" is a form of slander.
"Some are mainstream models/actresses, some are just nude glamour models," she said.
But Murphy wants people to know that her clients are "just people" ... and that with makeup, "anyone can transform."
