Vancouver is just magical sometimes, and this weekend was no exception.
A grey whale popped up in the waters off West Vancouver on Saturday, and Global News reporter Catherine Urquhart was among the first to spot it.
Whale sightings continued into Sunday, when one of the animals was spotted near Stanley Park.
And theyalso happened Monday, with a family at West Vancouver's Ambleside Beach catching a glimpse of a marine mammal swimming upside down, CBC News reported.
The whale had its "two flippers up in the air and sticking out of the water, and then it would switch back to and dive back down," witness Ohad Arazi told the outlet.
Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue tweeted this photo of a grey whale, spotted close to Brockton Point, the same day.
CTV's Chopper 9 also caught some stunning photos of the creature as it made its way through Vancouver waters.
This isn't the first time a grey whale has made its way into the city.
In 2010, a 12-metre animal came into False Creek, all the way up to the Cambie Bridge, The Vancouver Sun reported.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada said that whale was healthy and snacking on some herring.
