Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane is on the NHL team's training camp roster despite the legal issues he's facing in his hometown of Hamburg, N.Y.
Police have started an investigation over an incident that occurred at his house. Kane has not been charged.
Kane is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s at his off-season home outside Buffalo, a person familiar with the investigation told The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because police have not revealed the nature of their investigation.
According to The AP, the Erie County District Attorney has postponed grand jury proceedings into the allegation against Kane.
The 26-year-old forward had 64 points last season and added 23 playoff points to help the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup.
Kane is expected to attend training camp Friday morning at the University of Notre Dame. The Blackhawks will begin their six-game pre-season schedule Tuesday.
