A man in his 20s is in stable condition after a shooting in Calgary's Forest Lawn neighbourhood on Monday morning.

Police report that they were called to the 4500 block of 7th Avenue Southeast after calls that a man had been shot.

Police have yet to release the victim's name, but Calgary Herald reporter Jason van Rassel says that the victim is Henry Le Nguyen, a member of the FOB (Fresh Off the Boat) gang.

Nguyen is the second FOB gang member to be shot recently, after Phillip Tu was killed this August, reports CBC News.

The outlet says a gang war between the FOB and the rival FK (FOB Killers) is blamed for at least 25 deaths between 2002 and 2009.

CBC added that Nguyen was on his way to court when the shooting occurred.

One witness who ran over to help the victim told 660News that the suspects may have fled in an SUV.

A stray bullet from the shooting hit a natural gas line, causing a leak, and residents of the area are being evacuated, tweeted Calgary Sun reporter Bill Kaufmann.
