Colorado Avalanche unveil Stadium Series jersey

The Colorado Avalance on Monday revealed the jersey they'll wear for their Stadium Series game against Detroit on Feb. 27 at Denver's Coors Field.

Here's captain Gabriel Landeskog modelling the new sweater:

The logo is reminiscent of the one worn by the NHL's Colorado Rockies from 1976-82 before that franchise moved to New Jersey. It will also appear on the shoulder of the team's regular jerseys this season.

The "5280" marking on the collar is a reference to Denver's elevation in feet (one mile) above sea level.

The teams said the larger numbers on the back and shoulders were designed to help fans in attendance at the 50,000-plus-capacity outdoor stadium identify players.
