John Tortorella to be U.S. coach for World Cup of Hockey: report

USA Hockey is expected to name John Tortorella as its head coach for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey tournament, according to a report.

The official announcement will be made on ESPN after the Monday Night Football game between the Colts and Jets.

Tortorella, 57, last coached in the NHL for the Vancouver Canucks in the 2013-14 season, a campaign that saw the team suffer through a miserable year, which cost the fiery bench boss his job.

Tortorella is the NHL's all-time winningest American-born coach with 446 wins and led the Tampa Bay Lightning to the Stanley Cup title in 2004.
