Gigi Hadid Shuts Down Social Media Haters With Powerful Instagram Post

"You can make up all the reasons you think I am where I am, but really, I'm a hard worker that's confident in myself, one that came at a time where the fashion industry was ready for a change."

Gigi Hadid has had quite the successful year.

Between becoming the face of Maybelline New York to starring in countless campaigns and editorials and landing prominent magazine covers, it's safe to say the 20-year-old model has solidified her status in the fashion industry.

However, with great success and fame comes the haters, or in this case, the cyberbullies. Commenters on Hadid's Instagram account often post negative comments about the blond beauty's appearance and size, criticizing her for having a body that's curvier than the average high fashion model.

Gigi took to Instagram on Monday morning to address the haters in the most gracious way possible. She posted a note calling out the trolls, saying that even though she's not immune to their negativity, she's not going to change herself and she's not going to quit.

"I represent a body image that wasn't accepted in high-fashion before, and I'm very lucky to be supported by the designers, stylists, and editors that I am: ones that know this is fashion, it's art; it can never stay the same," she writes.

"If you don't like it, don't follow me, don't watch me, cause I'm not going anywhere."

Shortly after posting, Kris Jenner, mom to Gigi's model bestie, Kendall Jenner, re-posted note on her own Instagram account, calling Hadid "one of the sweetest, smartest, and most beautiful girl inside and out, in the world."

"Why do people with no life, no purpose, who are angry and bitter and ignorant, or just plain nasty and mean, choose to bring everyone else down instead of finding the best in others?" Jenner wrote in her caption. "I will never understand the BULLYS (sic) that lurk on Instagram just to try and ruin someone else's spirit.

"If all of their horrible negative energy was focused on being positive and seeing good, imagine what a better more peaceful place this world would be. Spread love and joy everyone, not hate. It only reflects what kind of person you are. Something good might come of it...lift others up. Do unto others as you would like done to you....Love One Another."

We expect to see plenty more love and support for Gigi's post to come.
