With all the pumpkins up for sale at grocery stores and gardening centres these days, it's hard not to start thinking about exactly how you want to carve them up for Halloween.
If you don't feel that confident in your knife skills, one of the best (read: easiest) ways to carve a pumpkin is to use a stencil or template, many of which are readily available online or in craft stores. And yes, the online ones tend to be free, which is attractive for its own reasons.
Celebrate and Decorate has some great suggestions on how to get the most out of your stencil, including finding a pumpkin with a shape that works for your design, and coating the inside with petroleum jelly to keep it from drying out (who knew?).
We've gathered together a huge list of pumpkin templates we've found online. Some cost (just a little bit), but most are free and will provide tons of fun for the family, as well as plenty of options based on TV, pop culture or just plain old frightful Halloween. Happy carving!
