After being the bearer of bad weather news for two weeks, a South Carolina meteorologist broke down on live TV when he looked up at his monitor and saw nothing but sunshine.
“Well, how about that. Boy, I tell ya—” said WIS TV’s Tim Miller during a Tuesday morning broadcast before walking himself off camera to hide his emotions.
Microphone still on, Miller whistles at the sight. “Sunshine. That’s amazing,” he said.
He whistled once more, offered a “Wow” and walked in front of the camera again before apologizing to viewers. He had to back away again and finish his report off-camera.
Heavy rain has devastated parts of the Carolinas in recent weeks. According to CNBC, approximately 11 trillion gallons of water has flooded North and South Carolina.
More rain is expected in the next two weeks.
After his segment, Miller said in an interview with the network he couldn't forget about the impact the flood has had on locals.
“I just lost it … it was because all that’s going on, I know the people who are suffering. I know people who live on roads that are now gone,” he said.
“I see these people in the grocery store. I care about this community.”
