A B.C. microbrewery in an NDP stronghold is facing considerable backlash online for hosting a campaign stop for Conservative Leader Stephen Harper.
Harper appeared at the Red Truck brewery in East Vancouver on Thursday morning, but the event was only open to invited members of the media.
Nevertheless, it wasn't long before people started tweeting their plans to boycott the brewery.
The brewery responded that Harper's team has simply rented the space and they weren't endorsing the leader, and that they also have a Liberal Party event at the brewery next week.
But that was not enough for many, who continued to blast the brewery on social media for what they felt was a partisan endorsement by the brewery.
The brewery is located at 295 East 1st Ave, in the Vancouver-East riding, which has been represented by NDP MP Libby Davis since 1997.
