Blue Jays Logo Painted On Toronto Park Grass Ahead Of Game 3

Bigger AND better.

The playoff battle between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Texas Rangers has gone beyond baseball, thanks to the cities' respective park departments.

The Jays are up against the Rangers in the first round of the MLB playoffs -- Toronto's first post-season run in over 20 years.

Ahead of Sunday's game, Arlington, Texas' parks department painted the Rangers' logo on the grass at local park.

The city department threw down the gauntlet, tweeting a picture of its logo to Toronto's Parks, Forest and Recreation team:

That same day, Toronto PF&R fired back, painting a giant Jays logo on the grass at Canoe Landing Park:

Mayor John Tory said the artwork shows Toronto isn't "going to be shown up," according to CP24.

"We're going to send the message loud and clear that this city is behind (the Blue Jays)," he said.

"And anything Arlington can do, we can do better."

Tory tweeted a photo of the painted logo, urging Twitter users to show their support for the Jays with the hashtag #WeAreBehindYou.

The Jays have lost the first two games of the five-game series against the Rangers, and Sunday's game is crucial -- if Toronto loses, the team's post-season is over.
