Moms Show Us Just How Beautiful Breastfeeding Is

There is a stigma around public breastfeeding that causes mothers to be shamed. However, the act is one of the most natural things in the world. Not only does it help babies get the nutrients they need, but allows moms and their newborns to form a special bond.

While breastfeeding might not always be a pretty picture – at times it can be messy and uncomfortable – the bond between mom and baby (or babies!) is truly a beautiful thing. We’ve rounded up some sweet snaps of moms nursing their babies from Instagram because #breastfeedingisbeautiful.

when august was born, the newborn days seemed to linger so pleasantly long. it was a timeless time. maebelle and i haven't quite had that luxury; since her birth each day seems to rush into the next, moving with the current of our family. i admire how she accommodates our present landscape, rolling over river rocks, leaning into the bends, and twirling with the eddies, but this; this quietly sitting, nursing, listening to her satisfied grunts, and watching her content face twitch into a drunken smile... these are the moments and i am only here.

What the hell am I going to do to soothe these babies, once I've weaned? They fall asleep at the breast every night. My #MotivationalMonday post is for this amazing photographer @melymaddenphotography who happens to be my sister 👭! It takes courage to go after your dreams, even if it means starting from zero. And she did go after her dreams, overtime she has become a very unique photographer who can capture the essence of a family and can portray all that "love" that there is with a single picture. I especially love this picture with her daughter Mia, where it is clear that the bond between mother and child is unbreakable and very special.
