Edmonton police officer charged with stealing gas from city-owned pumps

EDMONTON — An Edmonton police officer has been charged with stealing from gas pumps owned by the city.

Police say the alleged thefts took place between Sept. 7 and Oct. 8.

Const. Heinz Schilling, a seven-year member, is charged with one count of theft under $5,000.

Police allege the constable stole the gas while off duty.

Schilling is suspended from duty without pay.
