Kate Winslet is embracing the aging process, so don't you dare Photoshop her wrinkles out.
At Elle's Women in Hollywood event this week, Winslet, the face of Lancôme, revealed that her new ads for the beauty brand will be free of retouching. In her contract with parenting company L’Oréal, the 40-year-old, who has been very outspoken on her stance against retouching, made sure to state that no changes would be made to her face through Photoshopping or additional editing.
"I can only ever speak for myself and I can only ever do things that are important to me and it's a hope that other people might follow suit but it does feel important to me because I do think we have a responsibility to the younger generation of women," the Academy Award winning actress told E!.
The "Steve Jobs" star, who has a 15-year-old daughter named Mia, went on to say, "I think they do look to magazines, I think they do look to women who have been successful in their chosen careers and they want people to look up to, and I would always want to be telling the truth about who I am to that generation because they've got to have strong leaders. We're all responsible for raising strong young women, so these are things that are important to me."
Earlier this year on "Running Wild With Bear Grylls," Kate said, "I stand in front of the mirror and say to Mia, 'We are so lucky that we've got a shape. We're so lucky we're curvy. We're so lucky that we've got good bums.' And she'll say, 'Mummy, I know, thank God.' It's working, that thing that I've been doing. It's paying off."
