Man arrested after two RCMP cruisers rammed in Grande Prairie, Alta.

GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. — A man is facing charges in Grande Prairie, Alta., after RCMP say two police cruisers were rammed.

RCMP say no one was injured in the incident on Friday afternoon.

A suspect was spotted by officers as he parked at a convenience store and started to go in, but the man ran back to his vehicle after he saw the police.

Police tried to stop him but the driver reversed and rammed the police vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Police pursued the vehicle for a short distance and it rammed a second police vehicle before coming to a stop.

John David Tustin of Fort McMurray, Alta., was arrested on a number of outstanding criminal warrants and remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing.

RCMP say further charges are pending.
