The best part of Halloween is dressing up like a complete stranger. Often, we opt for personalities that scare us, people we envy and sometimes, fictional characters we've felt inspired by.
In the video above by Buzzfeed, three women turn into their favourite superheros from childhood — from Wonder Woman to a fierce Storm. And while these may just seem to be random costumes choices, the women above note each of these superheroes made them feel better about their bodies, skin colour and self-confidence growing up.
And in a world with far too few female superheroes and Halloween costumes that often end up being the sexy version of male superheroes, we suggest taking YouTuber and makeup artist Deepica Mutyala's advice, and going with a costume you can feel proud of.
